This session presents a variety of approaches for teaching history with location-based games and stories using ARIS. Explore how students can design and create interactive experiences for mobile devices that connect local histories to current issues. See how classes can research digital archives and family records to create geographic journeys, memorial walks through historical sites, and collaborations with schools in other countries. Strategies for creating companion activities that focus on historical thinking concepts will also be presented.
