This session begins with the tenet that assessments are evidence-based arguments about what learners do, say, or make. While assessment is often associated with tests that are administered in classrooms, it can also support improvement to non-traditional learning environments, better feedback to learners, and provide evidence-based claims about what is learned. Through the sharing of work and practical activities, based on empirical research, this session will encourage and support participants to consider the purpose of assessment and the nature of the evidence of learning in their own educational settings.
